Your Eastbourne BID recently met with Balfour Beatty, the team chosen by East Sussex County Council to repedestrianise Terminus Road from Bankers Corner to Blacks, including Langney Road and Bolton Road.

The long-expected works are scheduled to begin in the second half of January, and will start at Bankers Corner.

The works have been divided into 6 stages, with each stage expected to take three months from start to completion.

When working, the team will allow for 3m walkway access in front of business to allow access, and will also use sound and dust buffers to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.

We will be regularly updating businesses on the progress and will ensure you have a copy of the full schedule as soon as it becomes available.

We will also be meeting again with Balfour Beatty before the works commence. In the meantime if you have any questions, please do email [email protected] and we will raise them with the team.

Once the works commence, we will also hold a regular briefing session with the team to discuss progress and any issues.

If you would like like to attend these sessions, please email [email protected]

With regards to the pedestrianisation of Victoria Place – which has been funded through the successful £7mil Levelling Up Fund – these plans are not yet finalised. We will update you as soon as possible.
