Eastbourne’s Young Trader of the Year 2021 is…
Eastbourne’s first ever Young Traders’ Market was held in the pedestrian precinct of Terminus Road on Saturday 19th June and was a huge success. Live music from Emma Millar, Neave Fry, Lyn and June as ABBA, Rick Bonner, and Jade Powers provided a fantastic atmosphere as people browsed the stalls. Defiant Sports and Sweet Circus were on hand to bring more smiles with a tennis competition, clowns, and a very tall Mad Hatter too!
The Young Traders’ Market Campaign is a national initiative by the National Market Traders’ Federation, with Young Traders from across the UK competing to be crowned Young Trader of the Year. Starting with the local competitions, the winners then go on to compete in Westminster for the regional title. The regional winners then compete in the final Young Trader Market in Stratford-Upon-Avon, which is filmed for BBC’s One Show. One final winner will be crowned Young Trader of the Winner 2021.
Eastbourne’s market was full of amazing food, drink and gifts and some stalls were so popular that they ran out of their products within the first few hours! However, following tense judging by Caroline Ansell MP, Cllr David Tutt, and Tania from the National Market Traders’ Federation, our winner was announced.
