Your Eastbourne BID have written to Caroline Ansell following the recent local COBRA COVID meeting, asking her to seek further support for the night time economy.
Nationally, the night time economy is the UK’s fifth biggest industry, accounting for at least 8% of the UK’s employment and annual revenues of £66bn (figures from the Night Time Industries Association). They also provide support for the cultural sector, with many bands and acts starting from local venues as well as being a crucial part of the local supply chain.
We are very grateful that Caroline has already written to Chancellor Rishi Sunak, drawing attention to the challenge of hospitality and conference venues as well as nightclubs, theatres and other destinations. Read more here
